I am officially on the path I will follow through to the end!! It's not much different form what we discussed in that it tags well with my paintings, but it is different from what we had discussed. I will no longer be using live models and modernizing classical pieces. Instead, i will be doing intense anatomical, detail studies of classic works. So far i have begun work on Caravaggio's "David with the Head of Galieth" and David's "Death of Marat." I hope to have the completed soon spending no more than 2 days of solid work on an individual piece.

I'm still just working on basic figure study, i've yet to conclude how I would like to expose the under layers of the body. My current predicament is that while drawing the figure I get caught up in the recreation and do not think about how to expose said innards. I will be forcing myself to think through this more as I continue to work.

This semester i will be working from real life doing figure drawings. I want to have the figures in positions reminiscent of classical painting subjects. Along with having the figures positioned this way I will expose biological elements in a very scientific way. This will be done to tie this set of drawings in with my current paintings.

this semester has been a very interesting one for me. I spent most of my time trying to figure out what i wanted to do the other half deciding to do something else. My final product, however, is something I am proud of. These studies in texture and material are vastly different for the work i've been doing and have done. I enjoyed this productive vacation from my usual work.

For a grade my work out put is A worthy purely on the ideals of inventiveness, exploration, and uniqueness. However, i do realize my actual amount of time put into this section was lacking due to overhanging priorities. This aspect is C worth. That averages out to my work this semester being B worthy. Which I hope we can agree on. So don't worry about it and just gimme a B!

This just in! I've changed what i'm doing around a bit. Through a long strain of not wanting to do what i had planned i've switched around my concepts to have no concept. I will be creating non-representational expressionism with the focus being on texture and materials. The major push in the process will be material exploration for creation. Imagine pollock with out the drinking problem! (p.s. i may develop a drinking problem)

for the rest of the semester i will be exploring the use of mixed media and artistic styles to create artistic commentaries on life. These pieces will work off the work i am currently doing in painting but on a smaller scale and with a little more freedom in both material and subject matter. This process will feature a large amount of experimentation with materials and result in fabulousness.
